The 20th edition of the Helicopter Association of Canada Convention and Tradeshow was the biggest and greatest so far, just as the association promised! An extensive lineup of keynote conferences and educational sessions were held. An impressive 120+ companies were also exhibiting on the tradeshow floor. Celebrations for the 20th anniversary were well attended and favored by the participants such as the HAC Skidz bar and the HAC After Hours.
AMS Updraft Hour was a hit!
AMS hosted for the first time a happy hour in its booth on Saturday the 14th of November. A local Vancouver craft brewery was served to AMS’ clients who rsvp’d prior to the convention. The event was such a success that HAC participants and others exhibitors also got the chance to sip on the cold brew. It made the event the perfect opportunity for networking and for learning about upcoming AMS’ developments.
Also during the Updraft Hour, AMS drew its tablet contest winner: Dave Paisley from Sequoia Helicopters. Mr. Paisley won a Microsoft tablet Surface 3.
Rotorcraft on deck
Let’s not forget to mention the breathtaking static displays overlooking the Vancouver waterfront on the west terrace of the Vancouver Convention Center which captivated more than one attendee. An AIRBUS HELICOPTER model: EC 130 T2, a SIKORSKY model: S76B and a Bell-Textron model: CAN, 429 were nicely displayed, just to name a few of the rotorcraft that were shown by the surreal harbour and mountainous setting.
AMS hard at work for the Canadian Vertical Aviation
Coming up in 2016, AMS’ core software will undergo major developments such as a database migration to MySQL 5.6 and it will see its interface evolved and refreshed. These evolutions are part of larger scale project that aims to bring AMS’ solutions to new heights. Those advancements main focus will be to support helicopters operators and MROs in the control and tracking of their maintenance operations and supply chain management by providing them with more tools and features to give them increased profitability.
The AMS team looks forward to meeting you all next year at the HAC convention in Edmonton! Make sure to keep an eye out for AMS’ booth, we might just giveaway cold beer again!
